Dr. Sumbul Islam, is a board-certified internist who has been practicing in the Dallas, Texas area since 2017. She earned her M.D. from Rawalpindi Medical College in Pakistan in 1995 and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Spectrum Health–Michigan State University and the University of Kansas Medical Center. With years of experience as both a hospitalist and internist, Dr. Islam has worked at WNJ Hospital in Sherman, Texas, and has also served as a medical director in rehabilitation centers and hospice care units. Currently, she is the CEO of Imperial Care Internal Medicine and the Associate Director of the Visiting Nurse Association Hospice.
Over the years, she has presented on topics such as bronchitis, peripartum cardiomyopathy, ischemic cardiovascular disease management, and necrotizing esophagitis—showcasing her extensive expertise in the medical field.

She earned her medical degree from Rawalpindi Medical College in Pakistan in 1995, followed by a residency in Internal Medicine at Spectrum Health–Michigan State University, completing her third year at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Since relocating to Dallas, Texas, in 2017, Dr. Islam has practiced as an independent provider in the North Dallas area. Her previous roles include serving as a hospitalist and internist at WNJ Hospital in Sherman, Texas, and as a medical director in rehabilitation centers and hospice care facilities throughout Texas.
