Prurigo Nodularis Clinical Trials

Exploring Potential Treatment Options for Prurigo Nodularis

Itching for Relief from Prurigo Nodularis?

A Clinical Trial may be the Answer!

Prurigo Nodularis (PN) is a chronic inflammatory skin condition characterized by the presence of multiple, intensely itchy nodules. The exact cause is not fully understood, but it is believed to involve a complex interaction of immune system dysregulation, chronic itch-scratch cycles, and neural sensitization. Over time, persistent scratching can lead to skin thickening, scarring, and significant emotional distress.

PN can affect individuals of any age but is most commonly seen in middle-aged and older adults. It is frequently associated with underlying conditions such as atopic dermatitis, kidney disease, liver disorders, and diabetes. The constant itching and disfiguring appearance of the nodules can greatly impact quality of life, leading to sleep disturbances, anxiety, and depression.

At Revival Research Institute, we are conducting a clinical trial to evaluate potential treatment options for prurigo nodularis; aiming to reduce itch severity, improve skin appearance, and enhance overall quality of life.

About Prurigo Nodularis Clinical Trials

Coping with prurigo nodularis (PN) presents considerable challenges that can profoundly affect everyday living. The condition often leads to chronic itching, thick nodules, and skin discomfort, impacting both physical and emotional well-being. Studies estimate that PN affects approximately 72 out of every 100,000 individuals in the United States, with many reporting significant quality-of-life impairments.

Revival Research Institute is conducting a clinical trial to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of investigational medications that may help relieve the symptoms of PN. Prurigo Nodularis Clinical Trials are being conducted at select locations across the United States, including Michigan. To ensure eligibility, all participants must follow the study procedures. Those who meet the screening criteria and are enrolled in the study may receive either investigational treatment or a placebo.

*All study procedures and study-related treatments, including the investigational drug, are provided at no cost, and no insurance is required to participate, and participants may receive compensation for time and travel.

*To take the next step, submit the form above, and our research staff will contact you to determine if you qualify for the study. A brief discussion about your health and medical history may be required.

What to Expect?

If you are living with prurigo nodularis, you may qualify for a paid clinical trial exploring new treatment options. After completing the interest form above, a member of our research team will contact you for a brief pre-screening to determine if you meet the initial eligibility criteria.

If you qualify, you’ll be asked to review and sign an Informed Consent Form (ICF), which outlines all study procedures, potential benefits, and possible risks. Once consent is given, you will be invited to one of Revival’s research sites for a screening visit. During this visit, we will review your medical history, conduct physical exams, and perform lab tests to further assess your eligibility. If you meet all study requirements, you will be officially enrolled in the Prurigo Nodularis Clinical Trial.

Our team is committed to ensuring you fully understand your role in the study and what to expect throughout the trial. Please feel free to ask any questions before deciding to participate. Your involvement helps advance future treatment options for prurigo nodularis.

Is Prurigo Nodularis Affecting Your Life?

Take a Step Toward Wellness Through Clinical Research

Prurigo Nodularis (PN) is a chronic skin condition characterized by intensely itchy, firm nodules that develop due to repeated scratching. While it can affect people of all ages, it most commonly appears in adulthood and can persist for years. Symptoms often include raised, thickened bumps on the skin, severe itching, and scarring that can significantly disrupt sleep and daily functioning.

Commonly affected areas include the arms, legs, shoulders, and upper back, but lesions can appear anywhere on the body. This condition goes beyond the surface; chronic itching and visible skin changes can impact self-esteem, mental health, and overall quality of life. Flare-ups may be triggered by stress, heat, skin irritation, or underlying conditions. While topical treatments and antihistamines may offer temporary relief, many individuals continue to search for effective, lasting solutions.

PN is a chronic inflammatory skin condition that causes irritating and itchy bumps or rashes on the arms, legs, torso, or feet. It may cause burning, red, and itchy bumps that could intensify over time.

There is an unmet need for prurigo nodularis treatment. Unfortunately, to date, there are no approved treatments. Topical treatments are used such as steroid creams; however, it has a higher risk-to-benefit ratio, which means they could cause more harm than good for some people. However, researchers and doctors are trying to find a solution that may be able to treat pruritic skin conditions such as PN.

Participating in clinical research trials at Revival Research Institute does not require any medical insurance.

There is no known cause for prurigo nodularis. However, it is more likely to form when the skin is irritated or scratched. It is thought that scratching the skin can cause nodules to break out. Many people who have PN usually have allergies or other skin conditions such as eczema.

There’s no cost to participating in our prurigo nodularis clinical trials, as we cover all the expenses ourselves, including travel and participation costs.
