Michigan, June 21, 2022 — Revival Research Institute is excited and proud to be collaborating with Eli Lilly to conduct a Alzheimer’s and Brain Health Screening Event at the Ann Arbor Art Fair 2022. This screening event is a part of the Preventive Alzheimer’s Research Study, TRAILBLAZER-ALZ 3.

The Ann Arbor Art Fair 2022, will take place in downtown Ann Arbor, Michigan, and is one of the largest Art Fairs in the nation. It attracts close to half a million visitors over the span of the 3 days in July. This year, the event will be held on the 21st, 22nd, and 23rd of July, from 10 am to 9 pm.

Revival Research Institute in partnership with Eli Lilly will be participating in the event and is also a proud sponsor of this Midwest tradition. As part of the Preventive Alzheimer’s Research Study, Revival Research Institute will be conducting the Alzheimer’s and Brain Health Screenings in the Hill Auditorium in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

About the Alzheimer’s and Brain Health Screening Event at the Ann Arbor Art Fair 2022

We highly encourage everyone to take an active role in their brain health by visiting our community screening event. Participants will receive one-on-one time with physicians to learn more about their brain health and will receive a personal assessment of their thinking, learning, and memory capabilities. There is no cost to attend this event and health insurance is not required

As part of the screening process and to pre-qualify for the Clinical Trial, our research staff will draw blood samples to check for Amyloid Plaque buildup and other biomarkers that may indicate the early onset of Alzheimer’s disease. Our experienced research staff will take participants through the process and will discuss in detail about the screening, the study, and brain health.

For those interested in participating, schedule a time slot and visit us at the Ann Arbor Art Fair, https://events.revivalresearch.org/alzheimers-screening/

About Alzheimer’s Disease

Alzheimer’s disease is the most common type of dementia that affects about 50 million people every year and causes problems with thinking, memory, and behavior. One of the major causes of Alzheimer’s is Amyloid plaque buildup. Amyloid is a type of protein that the body normally produces. However, its buildup in the brain can cause plaques that affect memory and cognitive functions.

These Amyloid Plaque buildups usually begin 10 to 20 years before one experiences the symptoms of Alzheimer’s. There is a hypothesis that removing these plaque buildups in the early stages of the disease can further slow it down or prevent it from worsening.

About The TRAILBLAZER-ALZ 3 Research Study

The TRAILBLAZER-ALZ 3 Clinical Research Study is an interventional study, evaluating the safety and efficacy of an investigational drug, Donanemab (LY3002813) for those at risk of functional and cognitive decline due to Alzheimer’s disease. This study involves those who have normal memory, thinking, and mood patterns. The goal of the study is to observe if the investigational drug designed to remove these Amyloid plaques can slow down or prevent the symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease. For those who qualify and decide to participate, the study will last for 4.5 years.

To meet the study eligibility criteria, participants must:

  • Be 55 to 80 years of age
  • Have normal, thinking, behavioral and mood patterns
  • *Have a study partner who knows them well and is willing to attend all the study appointments

Initially, participants will go through a Alzheimer’s and brain health screening process that takes approximately 40 minutes. If the participant qualifies, they may be assigned to either one of the two groups where they may either receive a placebo (a drug with no active ingredients) or the investigational drug. Those that receive the placebo may have an opportunity to receive the investigational study drug at a later time.
